Proverbs 3:5-6

Faith is defined as

noun

  1. complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

  2. strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion

I want to talk about both of these definitions today. I have always been a Christian, but lately I have been learning what it means to have faith on a deeper level. Having faith in the Lord is pretty easy when things are going according to plan, but when they aren’t, it really forces you to have complete trust in the Lord. When a situation seems impossible. When you don’t see or have a way out. When other people around you are doubtful. When there seems like there is no end in sight and things seemingly just keep getting worse. I have to remind myself, “just keep having faith”. I remind myself to keep believing in the fact that the Lord knows what He is doing and has a plan for my life.

It’s easy to get distracted or discouraged, but I’ve noticed that by being in His word and listening to His voice, He puts me in the exact position I need to be in. There have been times that I felt the Holy Spirit nudging me repeatedly to do something. Initially it didn’t make sense as to why He had me do those things, but ultimately, I was rewarded with something I couldn’t have even imagined.

Although I didn’t see the vision, listening to His voice put me in a position where it ended up making sense.

Sometimes things won’t make sense in the physical, but God is working behind the scenes in the spiritual and putting things into place for us. I’m learning to trust Him completely, even if it doesn’t make sense to me and to stop relying on my own understanding. He knows what He’s doing. He doesn’t need my help. I just have to have faith in Him and move when He says to move (or stay still when He says to stay still and wait lol).

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
